Rough sketches turning into 3d sculpture.
I have a few glow in the dark experiments hanging around the studio, forgotten about until I turn the lights off.
Work in progress
Had a break in the weather so I was able to take these experimental pieces onto the beach at sunset to test the colours and textures. Made with 3d pen, paper and resin, finished with acrylic paint. Work in progress
I'm stopping these daily videos, there's not enough interest to make it worthwhile. This will be the last one for a while.
Todays video is a 3 colour monoprint with oil paint on paper. (Square format)
I’ve been working on a series of monoprints so thought I’d film some videos for the YouTube channel. Oil paint on 270gsm paper. Prussian Blue and Cadmium Red.
You will find a link in the description of todays video to buy this poster featuring 9 sketches.
I wanted to show the whole process of this technique without any edits so this series of videos are slightly longer. I have made an edit to allow the paint to dry before I begin to work with the charcoal and pencils.
It's a good exercise to get creative and try not to worry too much about the end result. Hopefully it will inspire you to just start making marks.
Acrylic paint, conte pencils and charcoal on mixedmedia paper. 290gsm. Filmed live with no edits (only to allow the paint to dry)
Filming the new YouTube video this morning. Acrylic paint, charcoal and conte pencils on paper. Spray with a fixative to prevent smudges.
This weeks series of videos are slightly longer and they are edited to allow for the paint to dry. Trying to get into the regular routine of posting a daily video and each week trying a different technique.
